Signal app error downloading sms

Did you have the ability tap-to-download? If it happens to you again, can you open another issue with a debug log? Something happened, we thought someone wasn't in your contacts, but then it corrected itself.

I'm guessing the sender in the group is not in your contacts? In one-on-one conversations with the sender, do images auto-download? Once they fix the issue just try to convert your friends back.

If the bug was easy to fix it would have been fixed a month ago. Luckily yate may have solved it. Now just let Greyson and the Signal team integrate and properly release it if its the proper solution. BUT I can understand yalls frustration, I do feel like this should be a 1 priority since its a piece of the core functionality. So we're looking to ship this fix in 4.

If anything, the situation seems worse than before, because before, I could tap the message, restart the phone, tap the message again, and the message would then download and appear correctly, but that is now not working. I also seem unable to send group texts to non-signal users ; likely unrelated but I mention it because you may see this in the debug log.

Done, thanks. I'd open up a separate issue. Have not yet re-verified that Signal works for me but will do so soon. Edit: other apps- samsung messages, Google messages, textra, messenger, color messages All tested then uninstalled. Full restart reinstall of signal, full restart still not working. Without it, it's really hard to figure out what's going on. Edit: someone says "beta is" I do not know what that means. I am commenting on the version available in Google play store. As haffenloher said, it's impossible for anyone here to figure out what's going on on your device unless you can share a debug log. I somehow got it fixed on my oneplus! Not sure exactly what fixed it, but I think the most important thing was downloading "Carrier Services" from the google play store.

I've had to switch back to Messenger for primary use, with Signal only for other Signal users. I have this issue constantly.

I deleted the app and reinstalled and MMS worked for some time, then the issue came back. I've been forced to use a non-secure app as my default messaging app now. Please address this issue. Is there any way to attempt to debug this? I was thinking if there was a dump of the malformed MMS I could get to, I maybe could post that somewhere.

This confused the carrier somehow and caused major issues with MMS. This can not be the case with me as the issue is intermittent I actually got one of these errors again yesterday.

Upon reading the "how to submit a bug" docs, I attempted to download the mms again to make it fail so i could submit a debug log but it succeeded this time I reboot it and then everything works great. It doesn't take that long but since I kept forgetting what I was doing I actually have a piece of paper reminding me on those two complicated steps stuck on the back of my phone case : Hope it's as easy for everyone else as it is for me.

I get this too. I've tried connecting and disconnecting wifi, rebooting the phone, selecting download this and that. Nothing works. This issue annoying me and my friends for half a year. Devs, will it be fixed soon? It's hard to determine when it started, cuz I delete old messages limit I always updated Signal app when when a newer version came up. I think also that telecommunications provider is not a problem. Me and my mate, both we are using "Play" wikipedia , for him everything works great With newest version of app too.

Play uses domestic roaming, so i tried fix MMS issue by allowing for all types of MMS in "media auto-download" option for roaming. It didn't help. And everything works half year ago so Submit a debug log like I did so the devs have something to go on. The easier it is for them to figure out the more likely it is to get fixed.
